[in writing poetry over the past few years I have grown so much as a person. in reading some of these poems, lyrics, letters, and thoughts I have collected and written throughout my high school and college experience- I can assure you many of these what I call poems- are written out of a need to refocus and recollect my thoughts and feelings when talking with another person seems too much to bear. this book means a great deal to me as it has enabled me to improve my approach to written expression; you will notice seasons of improvement as a poet, and seasons when I could barely find any motivation for any creative output at all. I hope you enjoy this mirror into the brightest and indeed darkest parts of my life. my goal is not necessarily to make my shit relatable, but to encourage you to listen to the silence of those around you- that you might want to understand others as much as I long to.]

The Words I couldn't Say
This is a place for me to put all the things I wish I said but I just couldn't. These are a way for me to "say" these things without actually saying them to the person I want to. I probably won't ever go back or read any of these because it's like revisiting a bad memory so don't expect much in terms of editing. Also I wouldn't consider this poetry but it is laid out that way. WARNING Talk of depression, suicide, anxiety, and self harm. Don't read if you don't like things like that and may get triggered. As someone who lives with depression and anxiety, a lot of my thoughts are bound to not be very pleasant. But hey, some of them are quite philosophical and positive. But that's rare. Join me on my journey through sadness, happiness, curiosity, mystery, and so much more. I was inspired to make a collection of my poems, and I decided to just do it.
