Hidden in the Alps of Switzerland, there is a palace. Home to mysteriously orphaned teenagers, that have been told they have abilities that not many humans possess. Professor Fallens, the owner of this palace, is determined to find out why and how these minors have strange abilities. No matter how much pain it takes.

If you are looking at the Silhouette of things, the structure would look like a palace. But to Heir, a seventeen year old girl who was forced to move inside, it feels like a prison. She hadn't even been given two whole days to mourn her mysteriously deceased parents, before her and her younger sister, Reign, were suddenly taken to this "orphanage" without much explanation. All she knows, is that she has an ability, and Professor Fallens will not stop until he knows what it is. And neither will she.
When she is given the aptitude test, it isn't working on her as it has the rest of the residents in the palace. Her abilities are unknown, and seem to want to stay that way. Or, should she even call them abilities?

***WINNER of the "BREATHTAKING: A FANTASY AND SCIENCE FICTION NOVEL WRITING COMPETITION!" "You are a secret kept from the world, but not from me." So begins the peculiar message found slipped under a bedroom door on the morning of May first. Theo is the heir to a powerful dictatorship. The number of people allowed to know he exists is few. He has spent his entire life walled up in the Tower, the looming stone monolith from which his father rules over the Land. Merryn is the daughter of political prisoners. She's known who Theo is longer than he would think possible, and she is taking a great risk contacting him via handwritten notes in order to convince him he deserves more than the fate his father has designed for him. She has one month to exchange daily messages with him, to answer his questions and open his eyes to the realities of a world he has never been allowed to see. A revolution is coming to the Land at the end of the month, and if Merryn's notes fail to get their point across, Theo may never live to see the sunrise on June first. A/N: The following letters were originally published each day from May 1st-31st, 2014. As you will see,Theo is allowed to write down a question for Merryn each evening, but you, the reader, won't see these within the body of the story. It may or may not be obvious from Merryn's response what Theo is asking. Part of the fun is guessing what his questions might be, but if you really want to know what they are, a list of those questions is at the end of the story. This story is a re-imagining of Rapunzel. Now, without further ado-I believe a young heir is about to unfold a slip of paper found on the tile floor near his door... Let's see what it says!

She's expecting me to greet you happy birthday." Removing his dark glasses, he stares at his victim to corrupt his eyes. Insurmountable fear assaults Artemis as excruciating pain drills on his eyeballs. A horrible scream slits through the silence of the night when the clock strikes twelve. As the elevator opens, the stranger loosens his grip and the victim falls on the floor. Covering his bleeding eyes, Artemis winces from severe pain. The man whistles away as he walks past the dead body of the security guard in the lobby to the snowy road outside the building. His victim crawls out of the closing elevator. The curse is true. He must get into his car before his sight totally leaves him. He must warn his family. " I must save Athena!"

Yin is an ordinary girl. She has a mother and father who love her, an older sister (who is annoying), and a younger brother (who is the worst). She lives in Utah, near the great mountains. But when some creepy man from space (he calls himself King Zarkon) attacks her hometown, Yin is thrown into a legend she hadn't even known existed. Yin finds herself alongside the Paladins, who are able to form the legendary Voltron. Yin must ally herself with the Paladins, not only for her world, but because she holds a secret she didn't even expect. Jack is somewhat ordinary. He lives by himself in the middle of the wood, not even daring to wish. His cabin is in Utah, decently close to the mountains that shield him from harm. Jack begins to think his life will only ever always be boring and lonely. WILL ADD REST LATER
