Daphne is a 19 year old girl who for years endured the abuse of her father because of his drinking. With younger siblings at home she can't just pick up and leave until a tall dark stranger comes along. Offering to marry her so that she can obtain custody of her siblings and raise them away from her abusive father, Mike, a sailor, takes her away from her family. The struggle between them gets harder and harder as the months go on because of his rambling ways. Will she be able to stay with him to save her siblings? or will she leave them and lose her siblings to foster care?
