I don't know why he took an interest in me and not , well, anyone else. Hell, I didn't even notice he was looking at me until he had walked up to me. But I will always remember this as the day I met the God of the underworld. And when my life changed.

The man on the throne abruptly stood up, his dark black eyes shining with an untammed flame, one that turned everything into embers. It was obvious that this powerful man did not like those who spoke back, espeically a small human girl like the one in front of him. The human girl felt the anger radiate off the man and started to run towards the entrance she came from, only to suddenly feel arms wrap around her waist, crushing her against a very solid chest. She opened her mouth to yell, but a strong hand covered her mouth. "You are a fiesty little girl." It was evident that the man was smirking in his voice; he was enjoying her fear. "Now, I do not want to punish you so early. So please, be the good girl that you are and be quiet. Not that screaming will do you any good; you are in the Underworld, after all." --- It had been five years after the death of her older sister before nineteen year old Katherine Bakers could even sleep peacefully at night. She had witnessed her own sisters murder, leaving scars beyond compare. She withdrew from her family and became a quiet recluse. But old nightmares come to life when she is knocked out and is taken by a stranger. Only this stranger is a god: Hades, God of the Underworld. Hades is a very dangerous man who rules the Underworld with an iron fist with no immorse for punishments of the wicked. He has a stone-cold heart that feels like ice, as no one has been able unthaw his frozen heart. And he is slowly losing time. A shattered human and the god of the dead; a new take of Persephone and Hades. **WARNING** This book will contain mature content and if you aren't a fan of it or it may offend you in any way you may leave now or you can skip the chapters as I will mention it in the beginning if it contains any R-rated scenes. Thank you for being patient 💕. ******** "You can't do this" I tell him congregating every bit of courage I could find in my bones. My denial doesn't seem to be having any effect on him at all as his hand crawls further up my thigh and dangerously close to where I my body aches for him... I try to move away but I can't it's like my heart doesn't want me to. "No Liv this isn't the time to let your feelings screw this over for you" I tell myself over and over again... "Stop this you asshole" I snap at him and jerk back with a force. This brings his all-too-well-known smirk back at it's place. My outburst doesn't surprise him anymore, if anything at all he only looks amused. His eyes are gleaming with amusement just like a child who has finally bought the toy he wanted. He is a devil with the looks of a Greek God. "Wait... did I just complimented him while trying to curse him?" "Yes you did just like the past I-even-lost -the-count-times" My subconscious rolls her eyes at me mocking me at the state of my misery.
