The year is 2102. Too many people were being educated; too many "good jobs" were being taken, letting the undesirable jobs be forgotten. NewSoc, a Boarding Society set on rebuilding the world after its near demise, is a community where babies brains are pre-programmed in the womb to only accept information to do the same type of job as their parents, leaving the society in divisions: Meds, Laws, Industrials, Ags, Pols, Lits, and Undesirables. Born with an Undesirable brain, but a heart that wants more, can Margaret defy DNA and have a life different from what fate has given her?
