Abaddon

Young Rachel bat Samuel’s life has always been filled with peace, coexistence, and stability in her hometown of Binah, a town tucked away in the Black Hills of South Dakota in the shadow of Mount Abaddon. The mountain is surrounded by legends of the demon Abaddon who destroyed the area, Hebrew refugees from before the days of Moses, and a history that has been kept silent by the Europeans who have settled there. Her upbringing has prepared her for few surprises. She knows what is expected of her at every age, what she will do for a living, and when she will marry. Rachel feels her upbringing has prepared her for everything except the questions and doubts that come to her mind.

Life seems normal when her family takes a vacation to the peaceful village of Abaddon to celebrate her brother’s wedding. She befriends a young geologist who warns the family of impending doom if they remain in the shadows of Mount Abaddon.

Rachel soon becomes aware that nothing in her upbringing can prepare her for the challenges that face her when the volcano erupts…
