She felt water falling on her face as Evie followed the waves, pushing her along. It felt like a dream, her body propelling her up to the surface as she struggled to gain some control over her body. Her thoughts were incoherent, a jumbled mix of sounds she could not begin to vocalise. What was she doing here? Where was she? Snapping her eyes open as she heard a distant boom that echoed for miles around, completely alone in the middle of a lightning storm. Notes: Takes place on a post flooded earth, land is scarce and often swallowed by the rising tides daily, humans have taken to the water and over thousands of years evovled into mermaids, much of the knowledge of human civilization is lost but not fully forgotten. There is a semblence of society but due to the strained environments much of culture was regressed into a more mordern tribal structure societies scattered in little to big settlements with their own unique territory.. Many tools and necessities have evolved with them but things like phones tvs and other things were lost in the great rising. Al-an is a creature (glosses over orgins ) That is an amalgamation of leviathans, namely the crab squid and shadow leviathen.Complete
