Lyra LeVane comes from a long line of Guardians. Her family has been protecting the Mystical Gates for centuries, preventing the ravenous Demons, that dwell in the world beyond, from entering our realm. 
  
  By day, she is just an average, school going girl. By night, she is a Guardian apprentice. 
  
  In spite of her best efforts, however, all hell breaks loose on the day of her initiation as a full-fledged Guardian- when she's expected to fight a real Demon. 
  
  For the first time in history, the Guardians have vanished without a trace.
  
  Sensing weakness, the Demons have started to rally around an unknown evil in a plot to seize the world.

It's bad enough she's trapped with no way home in such a dangerous place, but when she comes across signs of a monster lurking somewhere on this uncharted isle, she comes to find that the worst of her nightmares have only just begun. because the thing that's been stalking her from the shadows as fangs and scales just like the creatures she fears the most, with intentions of keeping her trapped with it on the isle.
