"Don't do this," I said, voice trembling despite myself. "You know I can't bear your ignorance, aayansh." His gaze locked with mine, and the world shrank into the space between us. His eyes burned-anger, pain, something unspoken flickering behind the fire. "I won't accept this marriage," he said, voice rough. "You can't force me to accept it... to accept you. Not after everything you did." My breath caught. I stepped closer, leaving barely an inch of space, enough to feel his warmth seep into me. His lashes fluttered as if the closeness unnerved him.
