It was small in terms of its geographical borders but its population was vast and ever increasing, with the agricultural production (for that was the main means of livelihood) flourishing and growing leaps and bounds. It was not a young Land- it had lasted centuries upon centuries, and was ruled by a caring and clever Queen and her kind and benevolent King- but, due to some international worry, it needed the protection of a larger and stronger land. Naturally, the most reasonable thought to secure this protection the King and Queen had was that of a marriage alliance- for, that would guarantee protection and security for years and hopefully generations to follow. And they were most pleased once they received word from the High King of Narnia- who had seen the advantages of marrying into a bountiful Queendom that had an abundance of grains and natural resources- that they were willing to accept the alliance and union. Slowly, she folded the letter from her sister. Her mind overflowed with thoughts and her blood burdened with envy. She was conflicted with mixed emotions. The Pevensie siblings have ruled Narnia for many years. Narnia has entered its Golden Era, filled with peace and prosperity. However, a new threat is emerging. King Hakan of Telmar is threatening war with the Narnians unless some sort of agreement can be reached. In the pursuit of peace, King Edmund has crossed the lands to Telmar. Waiting for him is Yvaine Shula, a lady of King Hakan's court. Ever since she was little, Yvaine was fascinated by Narnia and all of the creatures who lived there. Most of all, she was curious about Aslan and the four sibling monarchs. When Yvaine hears about King Edmund's arrival, she leaps at the chance to ease her curiosity. Despite the tensions growing everywhere, Yvaine finds herself growing closer to the Narnian king. What will it take to save his kingdom? What can she possibly do to help? And most of all, how big of a mess will her complicated emotions make? DISCLAIMER: I do NOT own The Chronicles of Narnia or any of the lands and characters found within.
