Screams of sorrow filled the air, bodies dropping left and right. Large brown eyes looked around for a familiar face, tears streaking already dirtied skin. Terror coursing through her as she looked at towards her left. There. There they were.

"Sirius! Sirius!"

She couldn't tell whether or not her screams were loud enough, the ringing in her ears already loud enough. Vision a little foggy from what seemed like an explosion. Stumbling towards those figures she yelled out once more. Did he turn to look at her? Was it someone else? She couldn't tell. Almost there, anyways. Just a few more steps would get her vision clear.

The sudden embrace of arms wrapping around her frightened her.

"Lay down your wand! By the decree of the Ministry of Magic, you, Sirius Black, are under arrest for the murder of twelve muggles and one wizard! As well as the association to he who shall not be named!"

She turned her head, struggling against the arms of the male holding her back.

"Ma'am! You cannot go over there! He is a fugitive!"

"I don't understand? What's going on? Sirius!"

Her screams fell on deaf ears. Her body shaking from all the emotions finally being let out. Tears flooding down her face as Sirius was chained. She screamed and clawed her way out of the grasp of her captor, sprinting towards him. Her body falling towards the ground as intense pain coursed through her. It was Sirius's turn to scream out.

"Get her away! There must be a charm on her!"

"It's alright love! Don't worry about me! Bloody hell somebody help her, she's in pain!"

That was the last time she saw him. Maybe they were right and he needed to be wh

There was a time when we were inseparable--the so-called Marauders and me. I mean, I guess we kind of still are. It's just that they're not all around anymore. Peter is dead, James is dead, Sirius is in prison. So that leaves Remus. And we're still close. We have to be, don't we? It would be ironic if we weren't. But it's still so strange even though it's been this way for... what, over a decade now? We used to be a werewolf, a stag, a dog, a rat, and a cat. But it's down to just a werewolf and a cat now. Not that Remus lets me help with his transformation anymore. No, he says it's too dangerous. I used to fight it but I don't anymore. Somehow, my cat form never got used to the loss of Peter, James, and Sirius. She still tries to catch their scents in the breeze. When I transform back into me, the loss feels even greater than it was before. Everything fell apart that Halloween night. Sometimes I wonder how only Remus and I survived it. I guess I should be grateful, though. He was the one who held me together. Without him... There are rumors, though. Some people have been saying that Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban. I've been trying not to think about it. Because Remus said I shouldn't. He thinks it might not be true still. I'm not so sure. I've never really been sure about Sirius. It's like... I know he went to prison for what he did to James and Lily and Peter, but... Sometimes I don't believe he did it. Remus said that he did. That he was seen killing Peter. So he must have been the one to betray all of us. But I know something that no one else does. Sirius and I were together that night when James and Lily died.

"Come on, let's go." Book in hand, he began strolling through the now nearly empty corridor. With a growl, Thea followed him, her arms crossed over her chest. "Give it back." "No," he called back to her. "Please, Sirius!" He turned around, his eyebrows furrowed together. "Please?" he said. "Sirius? What's the matter with you today?" She looked down, avoiding his eyes. "Curse me!" he continued, edging closer to her. "Hex me! Go on, yell at me! Get your book back! You never let me push you around!" She stayed silent, her nose tingling and eyes becoming misty. "Talk to me," he said. She jumped, not realizing just how close he had gotten to her. She could feel his breath on her face, his body smelled clean, like soap. He placed his hand under her chin and lifted her head so she had to look at him. "Ditch class with me."
