In a future Toronto a teen girl named Nicola Pimesada has been having very strange dreams ever since she can remember; it's almost as if she is in another world entirely. It is almost the Day of the Signing; the day where parents of 15 year olds have the choice to give their child's custody to the Toronto Academy. When Nicola ends up at the academy and reality takes a turn she doesn't know what to do. People are getting curious but she can't let anyone know. When she starts receiving notes from an unknown character she starts getting nervous. This person shouldn't know things they do.
