"The eyes. Close them," I commanded. Lawrence did so. He sat uncomfortably on the wooden chair. I remember what he looked like. He had cold sweat, and he thought that was scary. His heart was beating out loud, but you could barely hear him breathing. If you really quieted down, you could hear a soft wheeze every few seconds.
"What..." I remembered pausing to draw a deep breath. How did I know I'm was not risking everything by telling him? My life, my family- everybody. Will the Ruling Class lock me up like I'm some freak? The truth is, I didn't know if I'm risking it all or not, but I knew I had to let him know. He deserves to know what they hid from him for so long. What they hid from everybody. I stood behind him, and I calmly placed my hands on his shoulders. He had jumped a little, and he was shivering with what he might have called "fearful fright". But the brutal truth is, he has not seen anything yet.
"What do you see?"
There was a long pause.
"What?"
The human race is strong. They developed languages, weapons, academics, sports, housing, and many other things. Most importantly, humans are capable of having strong and deep emotions.
