What seems like a happy girl could be someone suffering inside because of what life throws at her. The thing that most people don't know is that she's dying on the inside from more ways then one.

Meet Ava Serling, a girl that seems like a regular girl. The thing is, she hides behind a facade. A facade that she wants to break and make it become real. She wants to be happy, laughing, and enjoying life. However, life decided to pay a visit one time, and left with her spirit. Ava isn't the perfect person by far, and she knows that, but she's got darker secrets buried down in her soul.

Meet Christopher Witherell, a not-so-regular guy. He's got everything he's ever wanted, except for perfect eye sight and some differences, but he's happy. He's happy, until he has to be dragged toward his brother's new engagement. There he meets Ava, and finds her different from all the people he's meet before. There is something different about Ava that he just wants to figure out. The thing is, what is she hiding?

"Wanted to be bold." I blush while I avoid eye contact. "Devin needed to borrow clothes for gym." I stare at my bare legs. "I should've told her no." He shrugs, biting into his sub. "Not a fan of exposing the body." I nibble on my burrito. "I just don't want anyone to get the wrong idea." I tuck my hair behind my ear. "That you're easy." My face reddens as I look at him in the corner of my eyes. After a few moments, I nod. He sighs. "The only thing that makes a girl easy is if she lets every and any guy inside." He runs his fingers through his hair. "Clothes or attitude has nothing to do with it." I trace a circle on my thigh. "And a guy that believes otherwise is either a dick or a rapist." I smile. "Avery." "Ava." "Your brain works in wonderful ways." I get more comfortable and lean on his shoulder. "So you've said." I giggle. "I'm glad to share the same name as you." ~ A girl, a perfectionist, named Avery Jones has been in love with her childhood friend's brother for as long as she can remember. He's never noticed her, though, he doesn't really notice anyone. He's sort of an insouciant philanderer. They couldn't be any different, the only thing that connects them is their names. Oh, by the way, his name is also Avery Jones; no relation. As crazy as it might sound, it's true. Anyway, it isn't until she becomes his mentor that he finally sees her. But will this new circumstance spark a connection or show just how different they are?

Who We Were

3 parts Ongoing Mature

Rose Eden was supposed to be Thornwood's perfect princess-wealth, privilege, power. But when your family's legacy is built on lies, control, and betrayal, even the most golden girl can shatter. Now, after spiraling into a world of secrets and chaos, Rose has returned, but she's a shadow of the girl she used to be. The weight of her past clings to her like a ghost, especially the secret she would rather destroy herself over than spill. Caelan Knight isn't the boy she used to trust with all her secrets. He's colder now, broken, and buried under his own demons. Their connection-a burning, twisted chemistry-pulls them together like magnets, but their anger, their hurt, is just as strong. And every time they collide, it's like a ticking time bomb, waiting to explode. As Rose fights to rebuild herself, to find some sense of safety and sanity, Caelan's there-dangerous and devastating, but impossible to ignore. He's the one person who can burn her down, yet he's the only one who truly sees her. And that's the problem. Because falling back into him means risking everything-her heart, her future, and the fragile mask she's worked so hard to keep in place. Secrets don't stay buried in Thornwood, and neither do feelings. And as the past claws its way back into their lives, Rose and Caelan are about to learn that sometimes, the person closest to you is the one who'll ruin you the most.
