Joel is a nerdy teen in high school who treasures nothing more than his beautiful girlfriend,Kayle. There are only two things that get between their relationship: Kayle's parents, and the upcoming summer,which Joel loathes. Kayle is a very smart and independent girl, but Joel would give life and limb to skip this summer and be with her at school, as her parents refuse to let their daughter have her own life,they are forbidden to see each other,and Joel would like nothing more than to cleave kayles father with a wrench. This story is about the life Joel lives without Kayle, which Joel considers no life at all,until the summer ends and they are reunited at last.
