in this story, there is another legend not told in the show, demi queen. she is the twin sister of oliver queen but has had a very different life than him. she was not on the island with him for those five years but she did fight with him to stop the people that are poisoning starling city when he returned home. that was until a time master from the 22nd century came into her life and changed it for the better.
