Darkness...
Utter darkness. One that recides in you, wanting to take control. A step forward, and you willingly surrender to it's engulfing sensatation. It becomes a monster without a leech. An untamed beast who's sole purpose, is to devour you from inside out.
People of these dark times were relentless. For them, it became no longer a question of being victorious or accepting defeat. They craved pure distruction. And for this reason, their existence was severly dreaded.
Many accepted the tasks to put an end to this misery, but with little success.
18 years went by, before finally, the fire of chaos was extinguished. The heros of that time were given the name 'Memmorics'.

In the vast expanse of the cosmos, there existed a planet called Haven, home to the legendary Knights of Haven. These brave warriors were tasked with defending their world and all the galaxies from malevolent rulers who sought to conquer and destroy. One fateful day, a powerful entity known as Malrex, the dark lord of shadows, emerged from the depths of the universe. With his army of demons and dragons, he laid waste to entire planets and sought to plunge the galaxy into darkness. The leader of the Knights, Sir Galadrim, a mighty warrior with a heart of gold, knew that they were facing a threat unlike any they had ever encountered before. He gathered his comrades to discuss a plan to defeat Malrex and save their world from certain destruction. As they ventured into the unknown realms of space, they encountered strange and mysterious beings, some friendly and others hostile. Along the way, they discovered ancient artifacts and powerful relics that would aid them in their quest. But as the battles raged on and the stakes grew higher, Sir Galadrim began to doubt if they could truly defeat Malrex and his dark forces. He knew that sacrifices would have to be made and that the fate of the galaxy rested on their shoulders. In the final showdown with Malrex, the Knights fought with all their might, unleashing their inner powers and strength. With the help of unexpected allies and a stroke of luck, they managed to defeat the dark lord once and for all. As peace returned to the galaxy, Sir Galadrim realized that their victory had come at a great cost. Many lives were lost, and the scars of battle would never truly heal. But he knew that as long as there were heroes like the Knights of Haven, the galaxy would always have hope in the face of darkness. And so, the tales of pareidolia were passed down through the generations, a reminder of the courage and sacrifice of those who stood against evil and fought for the light.

What happens when narration becomes magic and monsters become stories? When meaning crumbles beneath the whispers of tales, and certainties drown in the din of words, truth wears a thousand faces at the windows of night. Survive. When the untold fades, and the unseen is lost. Endure. As kingdoms fall and life ebbs away, as souls awaken only to cage themselves within the lines of pages. Fight. For what remains is a silent longing to wake again, upon the shores of a dream unborn. ------------------------------------------------------------ A multi-character fantasy tale set in a world that has forgotten how to define itself, where eras chase one another in confusion. Knights confront the unknown, detectives battle dragons, and vampires raise dogs. The stars are wrathful, the kingdoms have fallen, and magic stands stripped bare. ---------------------------------------------------------------- For those who do not like indirect suggestion: A cruel, innovative magic system A dark fantasy that blends classic fantasy, horror, and the supernatural. Long story and slow build (although you can judge it in the second chapter) Multiple characters and a big world Exploiting (inspiration from) myths, epics and legends in worldbuilding Legends from all over the world: Europe, Africa, America, Middle East, Australia, Asia, Ireland etc. Mystery, investigation, and the need to analyze, focus, and use your knowledge and abilities to reach conclusions and form your opinion before the characters do (you are part of the investigation, not just the characters) Warning: "Contains graphic violence" "Not suitable for children"

He walks forward, pressing the blade into his throat. His skin is taunt against the serrated edge, and blood beads around it until it drips down his neck in a crimson trail. My eyes widened, wanting it. He is looking at me with those dangerous, glinting green eyes, daring me. "Kill me, then. If you feel nothing, you can kill me. Then you can leave. The choice is up to you. It always has been," He whispers. His words leave me as cold as the blade at his throat. My heart is subjected to this stabbing pain, like I'd turned the knife on myself, and I would rather it be like that. "But if you don't," he whispers," you are mine and all mine. We will rule the dawn of a new age, we will complete our bond, and you will forget about her. Make your choice." I can hear my heart beat in my ears, and I swallow agaisnt the rush. These are my options. Kill him, or agree to be his. I make my own choice. I can not take my freedom away. I can not be the mate he wants, but I can not kill him. With a deep breath, I turn the knife on myself. Aurora, a girl with only one name and abandoned at birth in a war torn land, finds herself lost in a sea of witches, drowning in everything she can never have. Or so she thinks, the night a divine interference rips her from her home leads to a butterfly effect of deadly, chaotic spirals. Something dwells in the unknown shadows of Aurora's soul, something lurking just behind the screen of consciousness, something passed down through the generations as greater beings try to avoid the annihilation of our world. Is she just another part of the fall out, another victim to an unending tragedy between two cosmic beings? There's only one thing that can help her, and it stands before her in the form of a green eyed werewolf mercilessly killing the witches she's grown up loving. "Are you coming to bed firefly?" He says to me laying his hands over my waist joining me in looking over the city. "I want to look out for a little longer if that is alright?" I mumble hoping that he heard me anyways, I wasn't ready to walk into that bedroom, and I don't think I ever would be. "Of course, I'll be getting ready for bed, come in whenever you are ready." He says confidently and walks away leaving my waist cold something for which I am grateful. Especially when my mind burns with other more dangerous thoughts. The warmth that forever lingers in the air, never burning the skin, but always reminding about what is around us. I force air into my lungs feeling the unexpected warmth fill me. He stands in the room watching me even though he said he was getting ready for bed. He is worried about me, about me jumping. I have contemplated it I will admit, but he would stop me before I fell even two feet. I was stuck, and no one could save me. Not even myself, my fucking weak self. His presence is demanding no matter where we are, but right now I could sense everything about him, and I try to suppress the unwanted feelings that curl right under my skin. "Firefly? About done?" He calls out and I release my hand from the guard rail not realizing that as I looked at the lights that covered the shining city with the falling fire in the background that my subconscious was thinking about how nice it would be... how relieving it would be... to just fall. True freedom. I take a step back and wrap my hands together turning around to a fully clothed unchanged man and nod once. I could see the fear in his eyes that I would, he knows if he gave me the chance... I wasn't ready for this, but I had to survive. No matter what. Highest Ranks: #17 In Romance #5 in Soulmates
