Living in the shadow of my parents

This poem is about the experience of a child with depression and mental illness compared to his parents experiences. It juxtaposes the child's shame with who he is with his admiration of his parents, who in reality are all to similar to him. It is a story of coping with illness, overcoming tough times and loving people and yourself for who they are not how they feel.
