Near the end of your shift, you rush over to help a guy who's struggling in the water, which won't be the last time he has some sort of 'issue' today. Each time you hurry over, his friend lingers, making easy conversation, as if there's something more going on. He casually invites you to join them later at his friend's house. You tell yourself it's just to be polite, but as the night goes on, you somehow find yourself back on the lifeguard tower, standing close beside him under the stars.
