Katniss Everdeen, a poor, Seam girl, daughter of a miner. Peeta Mellark, merchant, a bakers son. These two are from two different areas of District 12, the smallest, and most poverty filled district there is in Panem. Such different children, you would think they would hate each other when meeting. But no, they found friendship in one another's company the first day of grade school. Since then, they have grown together, fell secretly in love with each other, and have the most tragic things happen. Because of what? Jealousy? Enemies? A fight? Someone unknown to the both of them, yet known by all? In this tale, you will read how these two survived many obstacles in their love, friendship, enemies, and life. Will they survive together? Or wind up alone?

In what used to be North America, the proud country of Panem now stands. The rulers from the Capitol hold a televised survival competition in which one male and one female between the ages of twelve and eighteen are reaped to fight to to death in an arena designed to be as deadly as the tributes, themselves. This game is forever known as The Hunger Games.
Peeta Mellark, District Twelve's Baker's son, has been, madly in love with his companion, Katniss Everdeen, since the small age of five. Ever since tragedy gave him enough courage to ask for her hand, the unspeakable happens. Katniss's little sister, Primrose, is reaped for the death sentence. Peeta watches helplessly as his lover volunteers to take her place in the Games. Soon after, Peeta is reaped himself. He knows that only one will come out alive: someone smart, determined, and strong enough.
And it would be his love. It had to be.
This is my verson of The Hunger Games, originally writen by Suzanne Collins.
