At second glance, everything is not as simple as it seems. Not when you attend Thornwell Academy for the Gifted where your peers are sons and daughters of senators and business magnates, celebrated journalists and academics. Of course, there's the ordinary duckling somewhere in the mix. Eleanore is the ordinary new girl with her unordinary secrets safely hidden away.

Well, until Adrian Hamilton, of the Hamilton banking family, stumbles on those secrets in his search for the reasons behind his family's declining fortunes. When a young handsome intelligent boy – and his young handsome intelligent friends – ask her for help, what is one ordinary girl to do? Trust him with those secrets? Dig to the bottom of the truth? It would be easier to run away.

But Thornwell had taught her better than that, hadn’t it?

Throw in a long-lost ex-best friend, a hunt for a family heirloom, all the inconveniences of being young and highly emotional and you get…

Nah, it’s comparatively tame by Thornwell standards .

‎ ‎ ‎Crestwood Academy is where the wealthy sharpen their smiles and play by rules no one ever admits to. Classes aren't just classes-they're tests of survival. A debate isn't about winning; it's about proving who's untouchable. And the wrong answer? That can follow you forever... --- ‎ ‎Leila Grey knows all this. She's seen what happens to people who try to climb too high. Her plan is simple: Stay out of the spotlight. Pass the exams. Survive the dining hall coffee and keep her name out of the gossip. ‎ ‎But Crestwood has a way of dragging you in. Between Olivia's aggressively color-coded planner, clubs she never wanted to join, and the Legacies who rule the school with perfect hair and sharper words, Leila is already struggling to keep her head down. ‎ ‎Then one rumor turns into something much bigger. ‎ ‎Secrets surface. Power shifts. And suddenly, the people who were untouchable aren't so invincible after all. ‎ ‎Leila may keep her head down, but if you ever make her bow, you'd better give it your all. Because once true power lifts its chin, nothing-and no one-will be left alone standing. ‎ And Jack? No one knows what to make of him. Enemy, ally - or something far more dangerous. In a place where loyalty is just another currency, figuring out his place in Leila's life might cost you everything. ‎ ‎When the masks fall and the games turn deadly, only one question remains. ‎ ‎Do you even have the guts... to see how it ends? ‎ ‎

Fourteen-year-old Edison Green may be a genius, but he doesn't have a clue about what to do on his first day of high school. After being homeschooled until age 9 and then starting college courses, Edison doesn't have any experience with kids his own age. His parents believe he has a rare gift and they don't want him to be distracted by the menial problems of teenagers; instead, they want him to focus on his research project, which could be the next big breakthrough in physics. Edison loves physics more than anything, but loneliness and curiosity about life outside his world cause him to rebel. He goes on strike, refusing to continue his studies until his parents agree to let him go to high school for one year. Edison isn't worried about high school being hard--after all, he's been invited to join Mensa International--an exclusive club for the top 2% of the world's smartest people. But he finds out quickly that it takes more than a high IQ to traverse the social events and activities at Southton High School. During an unfortunate encounter with the school's most popular athlete, Edison meets Christina Blakely, who saves him from getting pummeled on his first day of school. She is the exact opposite of him in every way. Christina is a soccer phenom who doesn't have time to be friends with lowly freshmen. She's got problems of her own, including a low GPA, which could prevent her from getting a college scholarship. Can Christina achieve the impossible-the highest GPA she's ever had--and earn her scholarship? And can Edison prove to his parents and everyone else-including Ashley Murray, the most beautiful girl he's ever seen-that he can do more than solve difficult math problems? Can he really change the world with his research project, win Ashley's heart and survive high school?
