A drunken kiss that changed things and two accidents that changed their lives for the worst.
An accident that leaves Mitch in the hospital and Scott completely alone with only the truth and a bottle.
There will be a character death, sorry.

"Mitch's mom left me a letter before she passed away. I just got it today, and I'd like to read it to everyone." I unfold the paper, and I clear my throat. "Dear Scott, I always knew you and Mitch would end up together. I know we never officially met, but Kirstie told me all about you. She said that you and Mitch will love each other and will be perfect together. If that's true, Scott, I want you to promise me a couple of things. I want you to promise me that you'll always make Mitch happy, whether it's in a marriage, relationship, or friendship. I want you to promise you'll never give up on him. He needs some stability in his life, Scott, and I'm hoping you'll be his rock. I want you to promise me that he can trust you in good times and in bad. I want you to promise me that he continues singing. The last promise is this: promise to love and cherish him forever. Can you promise me these things, Scott? Can you promise to love him for the rest of your years?" Tears start to swell in Mitch's eyes. I walk down to where he's sitting and I wipe the tears escaping from his eyes. Mitch just sometimes has "bad days". The stress gets to be too much, the exhaustion catches up with him, and the anxiety just sets in. On these days, Scott is the calm and steady anchor that helps him through the storm. Based loosely on my own experiences with anxiety and panic attacks. It can be difficult, and sometimes we just need someone to stand by us through the storms until we can stand on our own. On that note, possible trigger warning for description of a panic attack.
