Xero never thought his life would mean anything. He was nothing but a shadow and meant to stay one or die trying.  The grief stricken king pronounced the end of magic four years ago. Seeking to end those who he once revered with respect for who they were. The genocide of magic born, also known as  Obscurum, began.  Those who didn't side with the king and refused to give up their magic were  death or join the corrupt king and eleminate their bretheren.

Xero passed through the shadows for years after they killed his family. He's not the only Obscurum to have survived with his magic intact. One fateful afternoon changes his whole world. Radagast would rue the day that they lost faith in the great magics of the world. A world pending on it's own destruction is saved by a band of thieves.
