Gil is an anglerfish mermaid and he is the only of his kind that can stay long term near the surface. Gil has always had a fascination for land dwellers, or humans, because of their loving atmosphere. That loving atmosphere carries over when Gil meets a marine biologist named Jordan. He doesn't technically meet Jordan but rather stalks from a distance until he finally has the courage to say something to the so called, 'violent land dweller.'
