Luke Gardener is the proud leader of the Platinum Souls, an a capella group accepted to perform in the premier competition in the country. Luke aspires to become a singer-songwriter, and with a major agent rumored to be in the crowd, he sees the show as an opportunity to start a career. But when his parents refuse to pay for a plane ride to the performance, he must make the trip from Chicago all the way to Jackson, Mississippi by car. Along with his two band-mates, Jason and Noel, he takes to the wheel of his dad's Mercedes-Benz and heads down South. As the gang stops at a restaurant for lunch, an unknown-assailant steals the family car- all one-hundred-thousand dollars of it. Left in the middle of nowhere and in danger of missing the competition completely, the three young men take a desperate measure to reach their goal. They decide to hitchhike.
