As I look around, I see the same faces I've seen almost every day for the past ten years. Sure, We've had a couple new kids here and there, but when there's someone new, it's pretty big news. I wonder where Shawn decided to sit. I find myself searching for his face in the crowd and finally find him by a few of the guys on the hockey team. He seems to be fitting in well with them, laughing and chiming into their conversations as if he had been with them the entire time. One of the guys cracks a joke, and the guys erupt into laughter. Shawn's eyes scan the room, resting on my table for a beat longer than usual. I guess he notices me staring, because he glances back over, giving me a small smile before refocusing on his conversation. He only looked at me for a second, but I feel my heart jump anyway.
Something tells me he's going to be trouble.
