Ian Gallagher, a 17 year old gay boy who suffers from bi polar disorder. not to mention how fucked up his family is.
Mickey and his family are the biggest meanest criminals on the south side of Chicago. but behind that tough guy act is a guy who is deeply in love with Ian and has been there for him and would do anything for him.
Trevor is your average smart cocky hipster guy except the fact that he was born a girl and still has his vagina but that doesn't stop him from making Ian who has never been attached to girls fall for him.
Ian has to choose before he loose.
