When Emma Harte, a pretty, late blooming, slightly nerdy teen girl who has never shared her first kiss, decides to help her not-brother James, the ultimate womanizer, and the most popular boy in school, with his huge 'party of the year' scheme, she finds herself trying to keep their relationship in tact. Sammi, a mean, catty, popular girl who has the hots for James, tries everything in her power to ruin Emma. After a bunch of run ins with the both of them, Sammi makes up a rumor about James, insinuating it was Emma who started it. James watches Emma embarrass herself on multiple different occasions, And still wont explain why he is upset with her. But, after Sammi gets a football player to put a cockroach in Emma's hair in class, Emma runs out to leave. She then runs into James, who Offers to give her a ride home. He then tells her he fiund out it was Sammi who started the rumor. And to make it up to her, he brings her to see her favorite series, 'Raven-Man' at the Drive-in theatre.

Dallas Andrews is a military brat that can't even remember where she's originally from. A month after she starts high school her family is uprooted yet again, her father gets based in Fort Lewis so the Andrews family resides in Seattle. On her first day at her new school she gets a month worth of Saturday detentions. While serving her detentions she meets a senior named Frank, they become fast friends then quickly become more. As the school year closes Dallas learns that her family is moving yet again but this time they aren't staying stateside. Dallas is heartbroken at the idea of breaking up with the guy she's crazy about. Fast forward eight years, Dallas is twenty two and moved out to LA. While working in a bar she meets a guy that claims to have known her since she was in the ninth grade but this guy isn't Frank, his name is Nikki. Although Frank and Nikki are the same person is he the same person that Dallas was in love with? After all eight years is a long time.
