It is Junior year of Megan's high school life and she is determined to go through it without any drama and live in her own little world of books, music, and tv shows.
Just like she always has been doing, nothing more, nothing less.

During the summer before her junior year, she goes to the summer carnival that always happens every year.  Unfortunately for her, she meets Max Pierce, the new guy in town. She expected it to be a one time meeting, that she wouldn't have to see him anymore and boy was she wrong.

They aren't alike, of course not. Megan is quiet and keeps to herself. Max is loud and outgoing.

But is that enough to keep them apart? 

At the carnival they meet. It started with a ride and not just any ride, The Tunnel of Love ride for couples.

Not Andy Being the girl with no friends is never easy- especially when you have major trust issues and problems that can only be discussed with a shrink. That's why instead of slowly letting people into her life, she chose to shut them out completely. It seems easier that way, which is until she moves to Bangor, Maine and catches the eye of Cole, the football quarterback and heart throb of the school. He makes her feel things that she didn't think we're capable, and he shows how to make a bad situation into something semi-tolerable. It gets her thinking that maybe cliche boys with secrets aren't such a bad thing. During their 17th year, Andy and Cole must face the problems of high school, social hierarchy, their pasts, relationships, trust, friendships, and even love. Well, that's Logan anyway, who's so close to expulsion that even getting a bad score on a class quiz could get him thrown out. They both attend a private school in the small town which consists of rules stricter than a prison, and a bunch of stuck up pupils with IQ's higher than Albert Einstein's. When Megan ends up falling to sleep in class because of the previous late night she had watching 'Keeping up with the Kardashians' until 1am with her Mum, she gets dropped in an after school detention faster than you can say "oops". But who knew that sitting through a detention, and later in an isolated room with Logan could quite possibly make the school she despises actually worth going to. And who knew that in the 5 years of going to the school, the only person she actually becomes close with (and I mean really close) is the guy shooting paper spitballs at the teacher.
