We knew that it wouldn't work. I was a self-diagnosed gypsy with a heart that never wanted to stay still, and he was the boy that never went anywhere. I think the chaos inside me made him feel alive whenever we touched, just as he calmed me with his. Maybe that's why I stayed in New Orleans with him.
