"Sticks and stones may break your bones, but everyone knows knives are better."

.........................

Follow the story of the First Hunger Games through the tribute's eyes and hop on the rickety ride of the world of Panem.

Lily is a girl from District 4 who, during the Games, becomes insane. Will she win? Juniper is a tiny twelve year old from 7, but she packs a powerful punch. What about her? What about Bronze, a big burly kid from District 2? Will it be Gillette, a seventeen year old girl from 11 with a condition that makes her unable to feel pain? Who will come out above all?

Who will become the first Victor?

PS if you are sensitive or have a weak stomach you might not want to read this. There are a few fights that are mildly descriptive and some young kids die. Just warning you.

The 136th Hunger Games by High_Queen2
24 parts Ongoing
When Kira Blackwood's name is reaped, she knows she's screwed. How is she supposed to survive in a fight to death with twenty-three other tributes, all of whom want to get out alive as much as she does? Not to mention, the thought of killing somebody twists her stomach into all sorts of unnatural shapes. Despite secretly training for the Games in the cow pastures surrounding her home, and being pretty handy with a knife, Kira's kind heart may be the thing that holds her back the most. However, as she navigates through the opulent world of the Capitol, and then the arena itself, Kira starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, it's not the dead she should pity, but the Victor. After all, no one ever really wins the Hunger Games. Survives, sure. But wins? Never. ~~+~~ Please Note: This is set in a world where the 2nd Rebellion failed. All usurpers were executed (except those pesky star-crossed lovers, who knows where they ran off to), District 13 was destroyed for good (but District 12 was rebuilt, on the basis that the Capitol realized that it actually really needed coal), and the Hunger Games were reinstated. Disclaimer: I don't own any of the rights to the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, or to the Lionsgate adaptation of her books. (Obviously.) All characters of my creation are copyrighted. ~~+~~ Thank you so much for reading this, it really means so much to me!!! :) I hope you enjoy, and love it as much as I do! (Also sorry for the length, I sort have this thing for details... and long, run-on sentences... and long, run-on sentences stuffed with details...) Please note: I don't have a ton of free time, so as much as I love writing this, updating it will probably be super irregular. It's basically completed, the only reason that it's still marked as "ongoing" is bc I still want to write a few more scenes after the Games like the interviews and stuff, maybe of the Victory Tour, but I'm just not super motivated rn, lol.

70 parts Complete
When Reef, a young girl from District Four, thinks she'll make it through her last year of the reaping, finds that she was unsuccessful. She had been reaped for the 70th annual Hunger Games and must fight for her life in an arena against 23 other tributes from the other 12 districts. With the charming Finnick Odair as her mentor, she knows she has to fight, she has to live for her brother and herself. Reef also finds herself falling for her mentor, and maybe he sees something in her as well. But that is the least of her problems as she thinks hard about her strategies to win the games. With the arenas always changing, no matter how much she hates to be associated as one, Reef must think and train like a career if she truly wishes to win. That is, until a certain district reaches out for an alliance. If she survives the Hunger Games, will she be able to help Katniss in her efforts against the Capital? What will happen with her relationship with Finnick? Will everyone survive? May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor //From Before Hunger Games to Mockingjay// (This is a Finnick fanfic that is based primarily on the movies, though some aspects will be from the books. Some plot points however, have been twisted to fit my own story line!) ---------------------- ---------------------- Disclaimer: I do not own the Hunger Games Franchise - all character rights and plot points (beside Reef, my own characters, and my own plot points) belong to Susan Collins

Victor's Crown: A Hunger Games Story

38 parts Complete

Before Katniss Everdeen set fire to the nation, and before the boy with the bread declared his love for her, there was Finnick Odair, living legend of Panem. Ψ ••• Ψ If Finnick Odair wins the 65th Hunger Games, he'll be the youngest victor ever. After several years of bad luck and unfortunate circumstances, District 4 is in dire need of a victor, a hero to save its people from the merciless tyranny of the Capitol. Considered a prodigy by many, Finnick is confident he can return his home to its former glory and restore its eminence in the eyes of the nation. Aided by his mentor Mags and his magnetic personality, Finnick enters the decadent world of the Capitol and instantly makes himself a favorite, the newly proclaimed golden boy of Panem. But Capitol favor alone won't keep him alive for long. When Finnick joins his fellow Careers, each of them older and more experienced than he, to face an arena hiding danger around every corner, it becomes clear these Games are designed to push him to his limits. Between battling Gamemaker schemes and fearing his own allies' betrayal, Finnick is confronted with a pivotal question: How far is he willing to go to wear the victor's crown? As the Games progress and his body count rises, Finnick finds that the closer he gets to victory, the further from humanity he strays.
