Do you ever stop to wonder, just why we do this to ourselves? The ocean may hide our sorrow, but we can't be freed from our self dilusions. We walk in front of our brothers, our sisters, just so we can feel accomplished. Our dreamcatchers are merely charms to give us courage at night. Have you ever wondered why? No, of course not. I'm crazy for wondering, aren't I? Just open your eyes, then you'll understand my mind and thoughts.

When hardship is experienced, it is only human of us to think on the past. Sometimes though, we end up in a cycle of rumination, reliving events that cannot be changed; we become depressed in our memories. Writing can be therapeutic, so here is a collection of poetry exploring a range of sad and confronting memories. By sharing these poems, I hope to not only further my journey towards peace with the past but to connect with others out there who may be feeling the same way. This is a collection of poems by a ruminator for ruminators.
