As a result of the chaos within the asylum, it is eventually shut down, but this is just the beginning of the horrors that will unfold in Fairston. The town becomes overrun with malevolent spirits, unleashed from a portal to Hell that was opened within many years later. Sheriff Saxton Lake becomes an unwilling witness to the supernatural horrors that have been unleashed upon Fairston. As the town descends into darkness, an even greater and more terrifying entity emerges, one that surpasses both God and the Devil in power. This entity, known only as "Darkness," seeks to conquer the earthly realm, and its presence plunges Fairston into eternal night. Anyone who dares to enter the asylum or comes into contact with the malevolent entity is forever changed. Their deepest fears and nightmares are brought to life, driving them to madness. Darkness leaves its mark on the town, with gruesome displays meant to terrify and torment the residents. As Fairston's residents struggle to survive in a world where darkness reigns supreme, they must confront their deepest fears and darkest desires.
