Sam lives in a world where when you turn 18 the government takes you  away and does something to you and you are never seen again. There are the few that are never taken and they are tasked with the job of taking care of the kids that come from the taken ones. Sam is going to be taken but she doesn't want to go without knowing what is going to happen to her so she decides to do a little research. Along the way she meets a new girl Maddie who feels the same as  her. When they decide that running is the best option they do. Now in comes Zayn and they are in for one hell of a ride.
