Reborn; A Gregstophe fanfiction

'I had a dream ze other night.' As smoke escaped his lips and circled up into the air, dancing between sparkling stars and swept away by a morning breeze, he laid there silently kicking against the shovel near his feet.

'A dream?' His companion with hairs like the golden sun looked up in surprise, grin appearing on his face, 'I wasn't aware the French still had dreams.'

'Gregory, I'm being serious!' He spat out in annoyance, taking another drag of his unhealthy habit as he closed his eyes to protect them from the morning sun.

'Oh, I'm quite curious now. What could your dream possibly be about? It's not like you to share such things.' Gregory pushed himself up to sit straight on the outstreched field, covered in flowers and green grass. Next to him laid a grumpy, smoking idiot who frowned and now opened one of his eyes to gaze at his friend.

'I dreamed that I died.' He closed his eyes again to hide the emotions these betrayed. 'A past life, I suppose. Ze sky darkened, ze smell of gunpowder and a battlefield. You were there as well, on ze other side of the gun.' The Frenchman spoke bitterly.

'But Christophe, woulnd't that be amazing?' Gregory exclaimed as he turned towards his friend in excitement.

'How would that be amazing?' Christophe grumbled as he took another drag and wondered how long it would take before Gregory would notice a bird had crapped on his sun-like hairs.

'Because it would mean we found each other again in a different life time! Like... soulmates or something.'

A fanfic in which Ze Mole absolutely dislikes guard dogs, really needs to ease down on the cigarettes and doesn't understand why God is such a bitch that makes him dream about past lives. And in which Gregory is horrible at flirting despite being such a smooth and charming lad and in which he kills Christophe in past lives yet saves him in this one.
