'The Rules of Staring', I write messily across the cover of the notebook. I open the cover (probably with too much force) and begin with the pencil:
Rule #1: DON'T GET CAUGHT.

When Graham stops communication with Dorian halfway through ninth grade, her heart breaks.
She makes a promise to herself: No more Graham. Ever.
That promise doesn't last very long.
When Graham catches Dorian staring at him in class, she is mortified. She is even more mortified when Graham smirks and writes her a note:
'Jeez, Ria, stop staring. It's creepy.'
As Dorian struggles to keep her promise to herself, she can't help but wonder: 'How the hell did Graham Anderson manage to wiggle his way back into my life?'
