We've all heard about 'the main character'. The type of person who lives through the most dramatic and improbable situations, and finds the kind of epic romance you only see in works of fiction. Which makes you think about how unrealistic love like that is. I used to think the same thing until I met him. So much hesitation on her face, the sight of it fucking killed him. She wakes up, cold, tired and terrified, chained to a wall in a stranger's basement. Unbeknownst to her, she's now in the hands of someone else so much worse. She finds herself determined to escape his grip in any way possible, even if it means doing what he wants and pretending to like it. And as more time goes on, Max seems to be further taken by her, doing everything to try and mend bridges to get her to stay. But, she can't become complacent; that's how people die.
