There are as many Good things in this world as there are Bad things. But throughout the course of history many times the same mistakes have been repeated by strong rulers. This made everyone assume that power corrupts, but I disagree with this statement. Power does not corrupt, it's the human being who is foolish enough to repeat the mistakes the same as their ancestors regardless of the consequences.
