This story takes place in another universe where pencils rule the world and erasers have to escape the tips of the pencils from being sold by eraser- traders. Eraser-traders sell and trade erasers by which most are either forced into labor or slaughtered. Pencils have conquered most of their planet, Aern with sheer military power; however, the erasers have high-tech weapons. The erasers' planet was destroyed by a meteor impact the size of a small planet. The erasers fled their planet in panic and landed on a nearby planet populated with pencils.
