Gerard doesn't quite understand why his hair turned completely white when he was only nine years old. There's a list of things he doesn't understand, such as why he can't leave the house after 6pm or why his mother was frantic to cover his hair when they went on family outings. He even wondered why he was pulled out of school after being neglected by all of his teachers. He just wasn't aware that he was a menace, a creative mind with too much power that was being brought into a ring of public shame. He was a Diff.

Twenty eight year old Frank Iero had been officially 'okay' since he was twenty five. He hadn't seen Gerard again, and he didn't even think about the guy - he was just normal, and he was almost painfully content with being the secretary to someone with a five figure salary. But of course, on one fateful morning in December, that has to go and change, doesn't it? No one knows except his divorced mother and his brother. So when he spills his heart out to Frank, he just hopes that he'll take it the right way.
