To the average eye Kehlani King seemed to be your normal 19 year old girl that was two months fresh out of high school. Voted most likely to succeed in life, she had her whole life planned out...well planned out for her by her dad. She had been dating the same guy since she was 5, she planned to attend university, get a culinary degree, open her own restaurant downtown New Orleans, and marry her long time boyfriend. It seemed so simple, laid out, secure. It was what everyone wanted, security and stability; But for Kehlani it was like her head was forced underwater and no one could hear her screams for help to escape her forced fate. That was until her boyfriend asked her out to a basketball game but not just any basketball game but the one that would change Kehlani's life. When Kyle Kuzma laid eyes on the bored looking girl in the stands it was like he couldn't look away. He wondered what about her shoes was more interesting then the game going on. When Kehlani's boyfriend refuses to kiss her on the kiss cam, the team talks Kyle into stepping in and easing her embarrassment. If the sneaky glances were exciting the kiss was something indescribable. When Kehlani's boyfriend leaves her at the stadium without a way home and a dead phone she finds herself in a car with Kyle Kuzma and his friends. Kehlani had always felt like she was in cage plunging into the darkness of the water but that night with Kyle she felt the cage temporary lift from the water and the lock on the cage doors open.
