“We’re too late,” Louis whispered brokenly, staring down at the bruised and bloody body in front of him.
“We can’t be too late!” Zayn yelled. “This isn’t supposed to happen! We’re supposed to be invincible!”
Only three out of the five boys were left standing. One too weak to move, the other lay cold and motionless on the ground, eyes closed.
“Zayn,” Louis said calmly, grabbing him by the shoulders. He stared at him right in his eyes, and said, “He’s gone.”
Zayn went pale from the two words that came out of Louis’ mouth, the two words he’s never wanted to hear. Zayn pushed Louis away, causing Louis to stumble backward. Zayn dropped to his knees, and let out a blood curdling scream. A scream of pain, sadness, and fear.
A scream of defeat.
She watched the whole scene unfold from a distance, smirking to herself as she watched the boys grow weak. She knew she had broken them. She knew she had hit their weak spots, shattered their hearts. She watched as one broke down, another trying to calm him. She watched as one struggled to keep his eyes open, and one lay there, not moving. Her smirk formed into an evil grin.
