I entered this short story in a writing competition a year or so ago and forgot about it - but, apparently, it was a runner-up for state. I didn't win, though, haha. There was a five-page limit and I had to brainstorm for and complete this in two days when I should have had a month or more but damn if I wasn't satisfied under the circumstances. Anyway, it was a school grade thing, so I tried to keep it pg while still portraying a bit of my preference in writing. Putting this here because...eh.
