Rose is barely turning 5, her parents are having a big birthday bash for her.  Her mom went to the store while she stayed home with her dad. At night she hears them talking late at night with the tv on low volume.  But there voices were loud enough to hear. Something about down south people were attack each other. Bitting each other.  Rose was very intelligent for her age. Forming full sentences and reading 5th grade textbook. After an explosion at a medical lab downtown a group of teenagers set out to find missing loved ones. While heading to the hospital they run into a girl, who's being chased by two men who seem to be desperate to take a bite out of her. While saving her they notice one of the men is missing part of his face. Will they be able to make it to safety, or will they become one of the dead. Throw on top of it that one of them seems to be getting visions of the future and they learn a startling piece of information about how the dead have come back to life.
