Amelia had a perfect life with her mother but everything came crashing down when a car accident ended her mother's life and saved hers. Confronted by sadness and guilt, she blamed herself for the death of her mother and closed her doors to anything that could comfort her. While she was grieving, she discovered a notebook that was journal of her mother's, containing entries of thoughts and a bucket list. Amelia then had the idea to live up to her mother's wishes and decided to do the bucket list. However, one day a young man appeared to her doorsteps and alter the course of Amelia's plan to strike off her mother's bucket list.

He paused just one more time and began speaking again. "If you come with me today, your parents won't have to die. I can keep them safe. If you don't give me an answer, I'll have my creature kill your parents now and I'll still take you. Do you want dead parents or living parents? It's your choice." Amelia came out of the bay window seat compartment. She was trying to hide her fear and anger. She didn't care what happened to her but she didn't want her parents to die because of her. She took a deep breath. "Fine . . . I'll come with you." He smiled smugly, "Smart choice. There's no need to be afraid of me. Your parents are safe now and I won't hurt you." "It's because you need me for my abilities." She said more of a fact than a question. She knew he wouldn't kill her because he needed her. "Correct. Now, let's tell your parents the good news."
