In the year 2987 and the planet Earth was dying. Half the population had been wiped out and all the remaining survivors convened to one half of the planet and were working tirelessly to salvage what was left. In the distance galaxy, only a light-year away, was a planet called Tazguard, and they were experiencing the same problem. Over the last century, Tazguard had destroyed numerous surrounding planets to try and save its own, but the sun continued to wear on their planet causing it to burn to a crisp. Soon, however, Tazguard discovered that half of the planet Earth was in the same condition and the thought struck that the living half of Tazguard could connect to the living half of earth. A treaty was signed stating that as long as the light never touched the Tazguard half of the planet, the Tazguardian's would leave the earthlings alone. With the use of magic, the earth side would absorb all light from the sun, eliminating the need for seasons and hopefully would end the climate change. The agreement worked for around 50 years and both sides stayed to themselves and got along. That is, until earthlings realized that Tazguardians never kept their word.
