"You know Laney, ignoring you was supposed to send you the message to leave me the hell alone."
When Laney Barns heard these words come out of Beck's mouth, it felt like a punch to the gut.

Elena Barns and Beck Denson had been best friends since they were young, always glued to each other's side. Until one day when Beck cut all ties with her and a sudden hatred replaced their once dear friendship.

With no one left to keep Beck out of trouble, he spirals out of control and Laney is determined to catch his attention by rebelling herself.

Laney constantly has the nagging thought of 'is this my fault?' And wonders if their friendship could've become more, but now she'll never unless she finds the real root of the problem.
