Por primera vez desde que vive con su familia, el Doctor comienza a sentir que algo le falta a esa felicidad; al mismo tiempo en que la TARDIS empieza a recordarle constantemente a esa persona que aún trata de olvidar. Por otro lado... Rose cree que la monotonía es la mejor forma de huir de su mente, ya que, después de muchos años, el pasado sigue siendo un fantasma constantemente cernido sobre ella. A ambos les duele recordar al otro; pero el hecho de estar en mundos diferentes, de alguna extraña manera, los ayuda a concentrarse en olvidar, o al menos eso es lo que piensan.
