When she enlisted, she knew if a bullet didn't kill her, disease, or starvation would. Not to mention the death at the hands of her brothers in arms if they found what she was.
Despite what she was on the outside, she had a warrior soul that had earned her acclaim on the battlefield under the alias of Atlas Westerland, a sneaky farmers son. The name an ode to the boys she had lost.
When she is discovered by her new commander, it is not death she is given but a proposition.
Fresh from academy, the boy had yet to earn his men's repsect, respect 'Atlas' already had. It was either make him the commander he knew he could be or the kiss of death from his blade, her decision.
