Jake Mayer, un periodista muy poco conocido en Estados Unidos fue mandado al hospital mental o asilo Severalls ubicado en Colchester, Essex de Inglaterra (Reino Unido). Este asilo supuestamente fue abandonado en 1990, pero nadie esta seguro de eso ya que cercaron el lugar supuestamente para alejar a los exploradores. Jake se adentra al asilo y se encuentra con varios acontencimientos que pueden, o le costaran la vida. Se que sera capaz de escapar de ese horrible lugar... pero sus esperanzan bajan y casi no le dejan seguir.
